We currently witnessing a great technological upheaval on the telecommunications markets. The move to IP access networks, interconnection of IP-based backbones, and the developments in mobile phones give rise to a range of technical problems. BREKO faced the challenge decisively by creating a special technology work group. The work group Technology serves to:

· assist other work groups by answering preliminary technical
  questions
· form a platform for exchange between network operators
· form a platform for exchange between network operators and manufacturers.

In the work group Legal and regulatory matters, all topics that are relevant for the regulatory framework conditions are discussed and official positions are formulated, whether on procedures in the German Federal Network Agency and opinions on hearings in other German and European regulatory authorities, or on current legislative procedures. In addition, the work group Legal and regulatory matters, which is convened four times a year, offers the possibility of informing and exchanging opinions about the current developments on the market and legal and regulatory topics.
