BREKO excludes Gazprom subsidiary Wingas
02.03.2022
Given the increasingly escalating crisis in Ukraine due to the Russian war of aggression, the Bundesverband Breitbandkommunikation, (German Broadband Association, BREKO) is excluding its member company Wingas from the association with immediate effect.
Kassel based Wingas GmbH is fully owned by the Russian public company Gazprom, in which the Russian state holds a majority of shares. Due to this ownership structure, today BREKO excludes this member company from the association with immediate effect.
BREKO thus clearly opposes the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and the associated breach of international law. Due to the close proximity of the parent company to the Russian government, BREKO views the exclusion as an unavoidable step. At the same time, BREKO regrets any resulting disadvantages for the employees of the company and its subsidiaries in all countries, who do not endorse the inhumane acts of the Russian government.
