Rural rollouts help push Swedish fibre coverage

Gigabit-capable fibre-optic networks were in the vicinity of 97% of Swedish homes as of October 2022, up two percentage points year-on-year. A study by the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (Post & Telestyrelsen, PTS) found that the figure dropped to 65% when looking solely at rural areas, but that was up more than five percentage points on the October 2021 result.
